I just read this, Ronnie Martin wrote it.
Tradition is what gives us a model for how the Christian church should function as a body, which is why we look to the New Testament and that early church model that's been given to us. Non-denominational churches over the last 30 years have had a bent towards being "contemporary", "culturally relevant" with "eyes firmly fixed on the future". Tradtions offer a depth and richness, as well as give us a firm grasp on the essentials; which also don't change with the trends of the times. Of course, people can place too much value on the external aspect of traditions just like they can on being non-traditional. The odd thing is that most of us place a great amount of importance on tradition, so why wouldn't we do the same within our church? The importance of traditions in families and relationships are literally the glue that holds together and preserves them. There's a reverance and respect that comes with holding to traditions, so if I'm that intent on preserving them within my family, why should I do any less within a church family?

I just got to get a Gmail account. I guess it's an email account that has a gig of storage. Neato! Last I heard only certain people got invites for 'em too. I feel special. The trick is I actually have to use the thing...
I enabled comments on here... I didn't even know you could do that. Must be new. What does that mean for you, the consumer? It means this will be less like me standing on my soapbox shouting from the rooftops (the rooftops!), and more like a town hall meeting where even creepy Bob gets a say in where the new grain elevator goes! Oh yeah, that and you won't have to talk to me through your blog either...

What could be greater?
Hey whoever reads this,
Rock 30 Games (my place of employment) is having a FREE (!) BBQ this Saturday from 11 am - 2 pm. It's at 115 S. Bell St. which is off of Memorial Highway. If you're heading toward the bridge from Washington, it'll be at the bottom of the hill there on Bell. There's really no reason to pass up free food and some video game playing time too, so I hope you all come.

Why is it that when something bad happens that no one can do anything about, they always say stuff like "I guess all we can do now is pray...", like it's some sort of crappy last resort? I mean, it's not always meant that way, but it seems like a lot of the time it is. Ok, now I might be setting my self up here (when I say that, I of course mean I'm completely setting myself up) but I think I know what the enemies in Resident Evil 4 are going to be. They're not any kind of zombies, we know this much for sure, but I have a pretty good guess as to what they are. People with Mad Cow disease. No kidding. I'm completely serious here. Wait and see, I'll be right, so back up off me, fool.

I forgot how Reese Roper is one of, if not my favorite songwriter of all time. I won't go into it much, just let you take it for what you will. I wish you could hear it. If you're interested, it's from the CD "The End Is Here", which has both Five Iron's last CD "The End Is Near", and a live CD of their last show. It's only 14 bucks at Rainbow, but only until the end of the month.
Now, for a change of subject!
There are some people in this world who change your life, simply by coming into contact with you. I've had the pleasure to meet one of these people recently. Rudy Kempf is one of these people. I bought my car from him a few weeks ago, and I've seen him a few times since then. It really hit home tonight though. I had to go with my mom to pick him up from the airport tonight. The thing is, he'd been waiting there for over an hour! I kid you not, the man was as gleeful as a kid getting candy. So we drove him to his home, the whole way he talked happily with my mom. The part that really got me though, was when we got out and he skipped up the curb (really, I'm not making this up) to the door! On the way up to his apartment, he talked about how great the place he lived was. There was one point where he nearly fell on the stairs, but he just laughed and kept going! I don't know. I guess I can't really describe it to you, but I hope you get what I'm saying. The man is almost 90 years old for goodness sakes! He has a joy about him that can only come from The Lord. I hope that someday I can affect someone the way Rudy affected me.

Words cannot express!
Are you serious?!? TV's Kirk Cameron is actually coming to town?! Wow. I lack the words to properly convey my feelings, so I'll use the words of Chowerhead or one of his bandmates (I don't know which). "Ahhhh yes. TV's Kirk Cameron. It seems that just when things begin to look a little bleak as far as our adventures are concerned, TV's Kirk Cameron arrives with a positive message, a quick flash of a smile (still disarming after all these years...), a twinkle of the eye, and an ever sense of wonder (how is it that he has yet to age?)." Wow. That's truth of Biblical proportions right there.
Oh, and also for those of you who are counting: This is the 2nd blog this week!

Wisdom where you might not expect..
I like to frequent the Joy Electric website for many reasons. The biggest however is to find wisdom and comfort. Ronnie has a personal journal page that he updates fairly often, and it's easily one of my favorite places on the internet. My personal relationship with Ronnie consists of buying a shirt from him at Sonshine one year, and that's about it. Despite the fact that I don't personally know him, I almost feel connected to him. I relate to and understand almost everything he says on there. It kinda seems like I have a lot of thoughts in my head, but I can't find them. Reading the journals helps me find them. Anyway, the main reason I'm posting is the share one of his recent posts.

I finally had a chance to go and see The Passion a few days ago. I don't know what I can possibly say about it that hasn't already been said, but here's a few thoughts at least.
The scenes of Jesus being tortured before the actual crucifixion were shocking, violent and hard to watch at times, but even more than that, they were so incredibly humbling. Seeing just what He went through (or an approximation of it, anyhow), made me realize the unimportance of certain things that I place so much value on in this life. The death and resurrection of Christ is something that should have an impact on the day to day thoughts and actions of our lives. It is the capstone of the Christian faith.
I was talking to someone recently who said they were doubting things concerning faith and Christianity and after a little while, I just simply asked him what he thought the alternative was? If you're going to get down to brass tacks, what exactly does a life without Christ consist of? Doubt, fear, anger, paranoia, sadness, hopelessness....those things come to mind, and they're a reality. Do you ever feel those things as a Christian? Of course, and there are times when everyone doubts and becomes unsure of things. What do you do when you come to a wall of doubt and uncertainty? You open the Bible. You pray. You seek out Godly counseling. You find the answers to your questions. It's in these times that the Lord comes to us and strengthens our faith and gives us the answers and security we're seeking.
What I've seen a lot of people do (especially in the music scene) when they come to a wall, is to try and go around it, but the problem with that is you end up eventually going down the wrong path. It's always easier to just NOT find the answers to all of the nagging doubts and questions we have about the Bible and Christianity, but does that excuse us from finding them? And when doubt settles in and gives way to hopelessness and anger, what then do we do? How do we live?"
Take what you will from that. I know I took plenty. Ronnie Martin is largely responsible for me wanting to be in a band and play music for a living as much as I do. He's almost like a mentor to me, even though we don't know each other. I want to be able to do too. I can't imagine he'd be reading this, but I'll say it anyway: Thanks Ronnie Martin. Heck, maybe I'll even send him some of this in the electronic mail.
Well, I'm sure this was kind of a weird read, but it's what I had to say. That's why you're here, right? At least it was more than a sentance long too!
On a completely unrelated note: The government can't figure out when I was born. That sure instills faith in good old Uncle Sam, eh? Lata!

It was a long and bitter battle where many lives were lost, but Bleach came out on top. There's not one song on there that I don't like, and when it came out it was (and still is) exactly what I needed to hear.

Blog War II
Now, don't get me wrong, I didn't mean all people are that way about sports games. The sad truth is a lot of people will rush out to buy a new game just because it has a new number attached to the end, but not all people. I also never meant to imply that all sports games should be changed drastically with every new one. Take the Tony Hawk games for example: They don't change a whole lot from sequel to sequel (except 2 and 3 which pretty much changed the way you play with the manual and revert), but now with T.H.U.G. it seems like it's not even a skateboarding game anymore. I guess I haven't played it yet though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that there's a different standard. Some (not all) people will go out and buy Madden, or Live, or what have you every year, but then turn around and complain about games like Max Payne or Resident Evil and how don't change enough.

Hi everyone. My name is Pete, and I love Max Payne 2. People have complained about it because it's not too different from the 1st one (aside from the amazing new physics engine. "Mmm... physicsy"). See the thing is people expect all sequels (except sports games) to either innovate or vastly change what the first had. I've got no time for shenanegins! No time!
I've been playing quite a bit of Kingdom Hearts lately, but not as much as I'd like. I'd like to be playing it right now for instance, but I have to go to bed soon. Ya know, for a game directed to kids, it sure seems like you'd have to do a lot of drugs to know what's going on. The same holds true for Max Payne 2 though I guess. Well, not the directed to kids part...
In case anyone was wondering... Yes, I do think "Livin' On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi is the highest song ever, and that's without the key change. I mean really, when they were recording it Jon Bon Jovi must've said something along the lines of "Gee, I don't think this song is inhumanly high enough, maybe we should put a key change in there and make it higher", and then the guy who plays guitar solos with his voice said "Golly, Jon Bon Jovi, I think you're right." Yeah, that must be what happened.

Looks like Destroyer wants a piece of me in the fabled "Blog Wars". You see, his blog says "Mood: Blah". Thing you you don't see however is that he's got a penguin right before "blah"! One Less Car.
Well, I have one less car. So let's see... 1 - 1 = 0. I think that's right... But I was never good at math. Oh well, life goes on! I suppose you'd like to hear the story, eh? Ok, you can.
I was driving, and I hit a van. Both cars smashed bad. It was nuts. I'm ok though, and Jason was riding with me and he's ok. I just hope the other driver is ok. Pray for him, I think his name is Joseph. He had hip surgery recently, so they took him to the hospital to make sure it was ok... I really hope he's ok. Anyway, I'm gonna be screwed for money, but really, how big is money compared to The Almighty God? Exactly. Eat it satan. If Job could lose everything and handle it, I think I can handle losing a measly car. It's crazy too, I had a bunch of people praying for me before they even knew I was in an accident! I mean, my mom was across the street at Wendy's, and Roberta Smith drove by as it happened. They didn't even know it was me, but they were praying! Crazy huh?
So yeah, lost a car. Kinda sucks, but not big in the grand scheme of things. I still have my soul, and hopefully I'll have new Bleach tomorrow. Everything will be just fine.

Animal Crackers.
Well today's been one of those days where I listen to lots of music. Let me fill you in. I started things off by finding "Get Ready To Die" by Andrew W.K. It's a pretty humorous song actually. It's got like the happiest chord progression ever, but it's all about killing. I would've bought his first cd if it weren't for the terrible picture on the front. Then I went to mp3.com to find some stuff from his new cd "The Wolf" which is an awesome name for a cd.
On the way I was side-tracked by a song from The Strokes' new cd "Room On Fire" (also rad name). It was a good enough song. It had that nice laid back Strokes feel too it, and also a nice little keyboard part that added a lot. We'll see if their new cd is much different than the first though.
So then I read some reviews of "The Wolf" and I guess the word on the street is it's a little slowed down from his first. I listened to a couple songs and the word on the street seems to be right.
I just listened to The Even Anthem e-card, and they were pretty good I guess, but they sounded like a bunch of other bands.
Now I'm listening to the Mono Vs. Stereo sampler e-card. I'll give you the low down track by track.
1. The Even Anthem - "Good Fight, Good Night": I already told you about these guys. Good song title though.
2. The Uriah Omen - "Maybe The Butler Did It": Hardcore with puke screaming. I don't like it one bit.
3. Andy Zipf - "Running Out": Good times, he sounds kinda like Bono. Sounds good, a little like twothirtyeight (RIP). I really like it.
4. Matt Beckler - "In My Head": This is really kinda spacey, it reminds me of something, but I'm not sure what. It's not too bad though.
5. Boywunder - "Reflections That Pale In Comparison": Terrible Scream-core. I couldn't skip it fast enough.
6 The Back Alley Fights - "The Cellar": Cool band name, kinda nice drive to the song. Nothing too special.
7. Matthew Thiessen & The Earthquakes - "Poison Ivy": Awesome band name. Pretty piano music. I love his song writing.
8. House Of Heroes - "Mercedes Baby": These guys rule, I would've picked up their cd at Sunshine, but I'm poor. Check them out. They're good.
9. Embraced - "Saratoga": More screaming hardcore. Don't care. Skip.
10. Showdown - "Vow Of Silence": See previous review.
11. Wellwater - "On Our Way": Not bad. Reminds me of Anberlin a bit, but not as good.
12. Johnny Come Lately - "Carry On": I kinda like it. That's about all I have to say.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came out to the show last night and listened to us and said we were good, I really appreciate it. I think we'll be playing again on Oct. 24th or 25th (not sure which it is) at the Stainless CD release party, and you can bet we'll have more songs for your listening pleasure. We're hoping to get a website up pretty soon here too, but for now you'll just have to pretend this is our website.

Jeez, it's about time you dirty beggar!
That's what everyone will say now that I'm posting. It's true, it is about time, thanks. What's new you ask?
I just got Starcraft back, and I suck.
I also suck and Dynasty Warriors 4 and can't beat the Nanman campaign.
I saw a Vox Cambridge (2-10 I think) at the Eckroth's for $300 bucks. It sounded amazing clean, but when I turned the gain up it seemed like it sucked all the presence out of the amp.
I'm poor as dirt.
I was going to buy the Line 6 AM4, but due to the previous sentence, I can't.
I got Rooney for $10 at Wal-Mart. This is something everyone should do. They're like Phantom Planet, heck the singer is even related the drummer from PP.
New Dashboard is really, really good. I hope people don't decide to hate it just because it's different. It's on sale for $12 at Target, you should buy it. I'll (probably) post a review later.
The Midnight Sun Express is opening for Crimson and Stainless at The Light Club at 8:00pm Friday the 5th. Please come. We don't suck, I promise.
Buy games from Rock 30 Games. Why? Because I work there. That and we have some of the better prices around.

Ok, why is it whenever something bad happens some someone, they feel that you have to experience it too? "Gross, this smells! Here smell this!" or "Yuck, this tastes terrible! Try it!" WHY SHOULD I?!? It's smells like crap and tastes about the same, why do you insist I try it? How about when something annoys them, and they feel the need to replicate it for you. "I heard this horrible noise that drove me nuts, it was so annoying I wanted to die! It went like this..." Well thanks for sharing that misrable noise with me. Now not only have I heard the noise that was so awful I wanted to die, you've heard it TWICE! I guess you had to suffer again for making me suffer. That makes me feel a little better.

I'm pretty sure my blog has been hacked into, judging by all the crazy stuff that happens to it. The scary man left, but now all of a sudden I have another blog... I don't even know if there's anything I can do about it. Oh well, life goes on.
One thing that I've noticed lately about life is that people say a lot of stuff about doing nice things, or doing the right things, and generally have good intentions. It seems that they say all these things, and maybe even try them, but in the grand scheme of things they suck at actually doing them. They try, and they mean it too, but if it ends up happening that they might actually have to sacrifice something, or maybe take a little hurt themselves to avoid hurting someone else, it turns into something different. When this happens it all of a sudden it gets harder to remember what those right things were, and to see the good behind those intentions. Now doing things the easy way seems like it might be the right thing to do too, whether it actually is or not. They get to the point where they don't care about what will happen down the road, how much they'll hurt themselves, or how they'll hurt others. They're just concerned with the here and now, and that's just fine by them as long as they don't have to put any work into it. Those people are sickening.
By the way, read Air John's ca-razy dream. It does a body good.

"Old" today!
I don't have it yet. It sucks to be me. I guess I'll just have to listen to the e-card another dozen or so times. I can't even believe how cold it is in my basement right now. I can't feel my toes.
Update: I got "Old" at Rainbow for 17 bucks, but I figured if any cd's worth 17 bucks, it'd be this one. I've already listened to it 4 times, but have yet to sit down and put some headphones on and focus on it. Good news is, I can feel my toes. Bad news is, I can't feel my hands.

Dancing is fun.
That is something I never thought I'd say, but look there, I said it. Brandon and Vicky got married yesterday, that rules for them. I think they're in Arizona or something now. Their reception was a blast-and-a-half. I never thought I'd ever enjoy dancing at all, but when German Steve came and threw me on the ground, I figured I'd give it a shot, and I ended up enjoying myself. I should give more things shots, I might enjoy them. Anyway, moving on.
Right now all I want to do is write songs, record something, and play a rock show. I don't know if there are going to be any more Rock Services until next fall. I should find that out. If there aren't I might just have services every Sunday anyway. Whether it's just me, or my rocking fellows, or even if I'm the only one in the building I think I should do it. What do you think? Let me know if you ever talk to me again. Anyway, moving on again.
Something I've come to realize is that girls have a very apocalyptic view on things. Seems like they live every day as if it were their last. I mean every time they part company, there's this massive hug fest! It's like "I'll see you in a few hours! *HUG* Bye! *CRY* The world might end between now and then, so I better hug you again! *HUG*". Ok, now that I've offended half of the human race, I think I'll go to bed.

Leave, Don't Die
Sometimes it's funny how big a deal people make when other people leave. They act like they'll never see each other again. I mean, it's sad and all, but the only reason you'll never see someone again is if they die, or you don't make the effort to see each other again. Good-byes are sad, but not as sad as people make them. I think anyway.

The most amazing thing in the world
Whoever decided to build a big gym and nail corn on the walls is a genius. The Corn Palace blows my mind. Anyway, I'm still in Mitchell... Isn't that cool? I got a hair-cut yesterday. At Wal-Mart. When they say super, they mean it. I also went to a drive in movie last night, which is pretty cool... If you're in the front seat that is, my neck still hurts from trying to see. Ok, I'm going to go to church now. I probably won't have anymore posts from Mitchell after this. Just regular Bismarck posts, sorry.

Ok, it's time we have a little talk about a band I like to call The Elmses. Now, keep in mind they're not actually called The Elmses. Their real name is The Elms. Anyway, moving on.
"Truth, Soul, Rock & Roll" by The Elms.
TSRR as it will be called from here on is a CD that I�ve been meaning to pick up since it came out last year sometime. I finally grabbed it a few weeks ago on sale at Rainbow. I�m very glad I did. It seems like every time I listen to it, I like this CD more. TSRR is the kind of CD you listen to in your car and nod your head with while you use your hands to drum on things. It starts out with �Speaking In Tongues� (Track #1. duh.), which is also their first single. Good choice in my opinion, as it�s one of the catchiest songs on the album, and it�s a good song to show The Elms like to do. It�s kind of modern classic rock if you will. �You Saved Me� (#2) is an anthem that could be interpreted about how God is with us on the �Road� of life (The chorus says �I�m not alone on this road, You saved me�), but it�s actually pretty literal. The Elms were in some sort of accident in their van, and they amazingly came out alive, thanks to The Lord. �All The While Having Fun� (#3) is one of my favorites with a rad riff that goes along with a chorus of �Not in rock & roll did I find my soul� which at least for myself is a good thing to keep in mind. Another favorite is �The First Day� (#5), which is has some nice strings and is all about not being ruled by the past, and making every day the first day. The rest of the album sticks with the tried and true catchy rock songs with vintage distortion (which I love,) pretty bridges, big solos, and lyrics that you can�t help but sing along with. Except for the Acoustic driven �Go Toward The Glow� (# 9), and my personal favorite �Smile At Life Again� (#12) that beautifully closes the album. In closing, I have no complaints with TSRR, there aren�t any tracks I skip when I listen to it. If I don�t make myself sick of it by summer time, it could very well be my CD of summer. If you like feel good rock that puts a smile on your face, do yourself a favor and get TSRR. I can�t get enough of this album. 10/10.
By the way, April Fool's Day sucks bad. Don't worry though, you can belive everything you read here.

I just wrote a song. In itself that may not be the most amazing thing (it still is for me), but I happened to do it in one hour! Considering it usually takes me a month or two to write one song, that's pretty freaking good. It's called "Long Walk To Your House", and it's self-deprecating humor at it's best. CRAP.
I started writing a bunch of stuff here, then I hit backspace and my computer was all like "What? You want to delete that typo? Too bad, I'm going to take you back a page instead." Now I get to start over.
"Love" by The Juliana Theory:
If there's one thing you can't say about The Juliana Theory, it's that all their cds sound the same. Well... I guess it's physically possible for you to say that, but if you did everyone would laugh at you and call you a stupid head. Some bands change to keep up with what�s cool, and some bands mature and get better. The latter is obviously the case with �Love�. If I were to put this cd into some sort of filing system, I�d put it in a folder labeled �Rock Music That Makes You Feel Tough Just By Listening To It�. The track list on this cd is near perfect, with every song flowing nicely into the next. The only song that throws it off is �Into The Dark� (Track 12) which was from their last cd, and has been re-made for this one. I don�t know, it just doesn�t go with the rest of the tracks on this cd, al though it is much better than it was before. The cd starts off with �Bring It Low� which kicks you in the face with a big tough riff and lets you know what you�re in for with the rest of the disc. Brett Detar has gotten so much better at singing and songwriting it�s almost absurd. His vocal range is freaking amazing. TJT isn�t really a �Christian band�, but Detar (Who writes all the songs) is a Christian. The interesting thing is, is that even though TJT is now on a major label (Epic), it seems like there�s more of a �Christian message� than their other cd�s when they were on Tooth & Nail. A few of these songs hit home with me, like �Do You Believe Me� (#2), �Shell Of A Man� (#3) and �In Conversation� (#11) to name a few. They�ve also got a new drummer, who rulez the drums with an iron fist. Listen to �Congratulations� (#5) if you want to know what I�m talking about. In fact, listen to it anyway because it�s one of the toughest rock songs ever, and one of my favorite tracks on the disc. There are a few tracks I skip though. Like �DTM� (#9) because it feels kinda generic, and doesn�t seem quite like TJT, and following that �Trance� (#10) which just kinda rubs me the wrong way I guess. But overall, �Love� is a great cd and you should all buy if you don�t have it already. Especially since it�s only like 9 bucks at Target.
Well, there you go. A really really really long review. Next time I'll review "Truth, Soul and Rock & Roll" by The Elmses because Adam told me to. I'll also use some kind of rating method because Adam told me to do that too. But don't worry, I wouldn't jump off a bridge if Adam told me to. Unless of course said bridge was over a river of tasty and delicious marshmallows. Until next time, don't foget to rock and roll.

I hate the fact that cars are so expensive. I could buy a car... or a big pile of video games or some guitars. But nooooo, not everything in the world is within walking distance! Stupid world. Stupid cars. Stupid money.
My nose is running because I have a chronic cold, I need some kleenex. I'll be right back.

I was lying in bed this morning (30 minutes ago) thinking thoughts, and all of a sudden WHAM! and it gets darker. I've been wondering what that was since I got up (30 minutes ago), and I think someone must've tried to shoot out the sun. Fortunatly they failed.
Highschool spring break sucks.
Remember when I said I'd talk about more cds and stuff? I don't feel like it right now. I think I'm just going to give up setting goals, because I never feel like doing them. I guess I'd rather just stare at nothing on the computer for hours on end than do anything useful.

Pop's on sale for $1.87 at Dans Supermarket.

Hi my name it MATT!
That's what I always say to Lenny, whom some know as Matt. Don't ask me why, it's something I like to do, it's something I find nice.
I've been buying cd's like a freaking maniac. All of them good. I think I'll start talking about them on here so that I actually have something to post about once in awhile. Today I will be speaking of the new Relient K cd that came out yesterday. I do this because I just listened to it and it's quite fresh in my mind. Anyway, here it is.
Relient K "Two Lefts Don't Make A Right... But Three Do."
Unless you can't read, you can tell that they're still funny. Anyway, like I said before, you could listen to their whole cd on their site before it came out. That's kind of a double edged sword, because you can listen, and get excited for the cd, but then the cd comes and there's nothing new. Oh well, it's good either way. They're definetly getting better at playing music. There's less straight fast punk songs (only one or two that I can think of off hand), and a bit more rock. There's pretty obvious Jimmy Eat World influences on the cd, which is pretty sweet. Trademark (Track #7) starts out like it could be Bleed American 2. Falling Out (#3) also reminds me of Jimmy for no reason. Matt Thiessen seems to have tried a couple new singing tecniques on I Am Understood (#10) and From End To End (#14), which is pretty cool. If you don't know, I'm not the biggest fan of punk, but even the few mostly punk songs on here I dont mind. Mainly because Matt T. is such a witty song writer, and they actually have lots of talent unlike alot of punk bands. It also has the funniest secret song I've heard in a while. When they do have a serious song (which it seems like they have a few more than usual on this one), it shows how good they really are when the want to be. My favorite song right now is probably I Am Understood. That's another thing, Relient K usually has songs that are just what I need to hear at that moment in my life. Anyway, Two Lefts Don't Make A Right... But Three Do. is a way better cd than I expected, and you should buy it (It's only $14 at Rainbow) and laugh and enjoy it.

No more title tracks
This is my plea to bands everywhere, don't ever record another title track. Ever. I'm serious. There's a very heavy burden that title tracks have to carry around with them. Simply because they're title tracks, you expect it to be at least one of the best songs on the cd. Unfortunatly, this is rarely the case, sometimes they even turn out to be the WORST track off the cd! What could be more disapointing than that? This has been on my mind for sometime now, but the new Switchfoot cd made me go into action. So all bands, please, do us a favor and never make a title track again. Thank you. More news at eleven.

I always tell myself "Pistol, you should really update your blog on a weekly basis." I'm obviously doing that very well. Psych! Hee hee, remember psych? What a good time!
Let's talk about video games for a moment shall we? Ok, great! I purchased NHL Hitz 2003 recently from Rock 30, and boy is it a good time! That's... All I can really think of to say. It's fun.
I also picked up Kessen 2 and Devil May Cry 2 the other day. People in general don't seem to like DMC2 very much. I haven't played through the whole thing yet, but I have no major qualms with it. I'll let you know if I finish it and have major qualms by then. Kessen 2 is more fun than I remember, aside from the freaking level I'm stuck on.

Tuesday will be the start of the relentless assault of great cds coming out for the next two months. It all starts with "Love" by The Juliana Theory. Pick it up at Target for 6 (!) bucks,
Speaking of Target I'll officially be done there on Feb. 10th. I'll then move on to become a inventory control specialist at Rock 30 Games.
Ok, I'm done now. I liked Crystal Pepsi.

I'm so very sorry
I always feel bad when I don't update this, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who cares anyway, so no big deal. Let's see... What did I say I'd put in here again? Ok I remember know. Get ready.
Fine China "You Make Me Hate Music"
That would be my pick for cd of the year. Runner up is:
Coldplay "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" & 238 "You Should Be Living"
That's right, a tie. Anyway, more about Fine China. "You Make Me Hate Music" was almost the only cd I listened to all summer, and I never got sick of it. Upon further thought, I really think it's my favorite cd... EVAR!!!11 Sorry. Well, that's all you're going to get for now, I wouldn't want to steal any thunder from that amazing announcement. Bye.

Ahh, the new year... The time when everyone makes silly unrealistic goals that they know they'll screw up by Febuary. You won't find me doing such things, no sir. Instead I'm going to set a more realistic goal. That goal is to see The Two Towers (Yes, it's TWO, not TWIN) again. This way, when everyone is moaning about how they didn't do their resolution, I can laugh and enjoy my supremacy.
Speaking of The Two Towers (I am the segue king!), I've enjoyed it 3 times since it came out, and it of course rules. If you're reading this right now you owe it to yourself to go and see it as soon as you can. I don't care if you've seen it already, go anyway. It would be stupid not to. Unless you haven't seen the first one yet, in which case you absolutely should NOT see Two Towers yet. I forbid it.
Actually, I do have a resolution other than seeing the movie, but it's not because it's a new year, it's more of a good thing to do in general. If you've ever talked to me, you probably know that I'm not a big fan of multiple standards. Meaning that I whine about it all the time. Anyway, I complain about it all the time, and I'm sure I'm guilty of it just as much as the next guy (whoever that is). So what I'm getting at here is, there's no reason I should treat someone differently because of how they treat me, is there? Didn't think so. So if you catch me doing so, slap me around or something. Seriously. I won't hesitate to do the same to you. Well, maybe I won't slap you, but a stern talking to isn't out of the question.
Oh, by the way, I made a "hall" on Christmas. I'll give you the low-down another time. Maybe. I will be back with my choice for compact disc of the year in a few weeks though.

Music is good.
The other day I spent some quality time checking out some Tooth & Nail bands the other day, let me give you the low down.
Me Without You
The song I downloaded started out promising, then turned into generic hardcore. Too bad.
Mae
I didn't really know what to expect when I downloaded the (unfortunatly) only song they had up, but let me tell you, it freaking rules.Their cd "Destination: Beautiful" Comes out febuary 25th, and will be one of the many, many compact discs I'll be buying that come out in Feb. and March. The song is very pretty, it kinda has an airy sound to it, which is something I enjoy alot.
Poor Old Lu
They've been around awhile, but I've never really listened to them. It's not too bad I must say, but I haven't made up my mind about his voice. It's definetly rock though.
Slow Coming Day
They're sort of emo rock I guess. Not bad by any means, they just didn't stick out to me much.
Watashi Wa
The only song they have up is a rough mix of a song right now, but it's not bad. It's sorta poppy, and it also has a touch of 80's. Not punk like I expected. I kinda like it.
Bon Voyage
Now wait, before you stop and say "Pistol! That's a girl pop band! What were you thinking?!?", let me say two words: Jason Martin. If you didn't know (which I didn't until I read a review on Decapolis), Bon Voyage is: Jason Martin, Julie Martin and Travis Zimmerman (I have no idea). Ronnie Martin also provides some synthes I hear. Anyway, since Jason does all the guitars (and writes the lyrics too I think), it sounds like Starflyer, only more poppy, due to Julie's vocals. I'm going to just say right now, that I enjoy it very much. Girl singer or not. She actually goes really well with Jason's guitars. Good stuff.
There you have it, although bands say they suck to be on, Tooth & Nail has some sweet bands.
